SERMON | Warrior Poet | 'Pt. 5 - Is God Worthy or Is He Useful?' | 1 Samuel 4

Through the people of Israel, we see some of the ways that we as God's people can be quick to forget God's glory and attempt to use him as a means to our own ends. We see that God will not settle for false pretenses when it comes to his own people, and even allows himself to be shamed before outsiders for the sake of reawakening the relationship with his people. Finally, we are encouraged to remember that God's relationship with his people is not one of transaction, this for that, but one of sacrificial grace through the finished work of Christ on the cross.
