SERMON | Warrior Poet | Pt. 9 'King Saul & the Problem of Gospel Amnesia' | 1 Samuel 13-15

King Saul forgets the Lord's rightful place as King of kings, he directly disobeys God's commands, and hears from God's prophet, Samuel, that the kingdom will be taken away from him. In Saul's failure as king and self-deception he shifts blame, tries to "religiously" justify himself, and minimizes his sin. Like Saul, we often forget the Lord in "gospel amnesia." Our hope is that Jesus, the true and better King, has gone before us and sent his Spirit as the Helper.
